It’s outrageous to me that a person could treat a living creature so badly. Dogs are known for their fierce loyalty and companionship. No creature deserves what this man did. I’ve been dealing with something (finally) that I haven’t really dealt with even when it happened. In 2004, I had a miscarriage. It would’ve been awful timing for us so since it happened I’ve been telling myself that it was for the best. But now my sister-in-law lost her baby in 2007 and her behavior and a discussion with my nephews is making me deal with it. If I hadn’t been so overwhelmed with stress and on my MS meds I would be a mother right now. The mother of a 5 year old. I think about what sex it would be or what it would look like. Most of all I think about how it got flushed down the toilet because it dropped out of me. But it was for the best, right? So now we’re actually trying and I can’t get pregnant to save my life. I’ve stopped even thinking about being pregnant until it happens because the disappointment is too hard to deal with.

NaPoWriMo 2009

April is quickly approaching and, since my symptoms are decreasing in my writing hand, I’ll be getting back to my roots and participating in NaPoWriMo [National Poetry Writing Month] 2009. It’s a yearly writing event like NaNoWriMo [National Novel Writing Month] but dedicated to writing poetry. Click on the tag at the top of this post if you want to participate Beginning April 1 participants write a new poem per day for the entire month. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish. catching up…

It’s been a while since i’ve done any blogging of any kind. looks like it’s time to catch up! Let’s see, starting with my mother finally moving out. We got her up to Fort Collins on the first of the month and my level of stress has decreased significantly.  Also my symptoms are decreasing and I’m close to being able to write again. Thank god for that! For the past few months I haven’t been able to shoot a picture, type on the laptop or hold a pencil because of numbness in my hand. I don’t know what I would do if I could shoot a picture or write a poem again. So now I’m making plans on which juried contests to enter and what new things to shoot and which stories to work on. Things are looking up again!
