Happy Memorial Day!

28 05 2010

So I wanted to wish everyone a safe and fun holiday weekend. Please be careful if you’re driving. Now…there are a couple of other things that I wanted to mention…

On this day, 12 years ago Phil Hartman was murdered by his wife. It was a great loss that was felt then and can still be felt now. I wanted to share a video of him with you in honor of his life.

One more thing. Today we lost Gary Coleman. He was a huge symbol of my childhood and it’s surreal to hear that he’s gone. He didn’t seem to find much happiness on this side so I can only hope that he’s found it now.

Have a great/safe weekend!

World MS Day!

26 05 2010

So it’s World MS Day! What does that mean? It means that many people around the world are doing something to stop MS in its tracks. I’m not asking for much just a thought. Spend some time today thinking of the ones you love. Remember how great life really is and that if it’s bad it will get better and if it doesn’t get better you can still get through it.

World MS Day

Geek Pride!

25 05 2010

I’m still hiding out, trying to fully recover but things are happening so I thought I would give you a little update. I’ll be beginning a comic book scriptwriting course with  comic book author Serena Valentino of “Gloomcookie” and “Nightmares & Fairy Tales” fame. I’ll be working on a comic inspired by my nephew Myles. I haven’t settled on a title yet but the possibilities are:

“Myles Away”
“Myles from Home”
“Myles: the Real Boy”

I’m leaning toward the last one.

In other areas my husband is taking time off next month and will be able to help me with my new blog and website. I’ll keep you up to date on how they progress. Also, I’m working on getting my etsy page back up and running (that will be announced with the site) and I need to work on the chapbooks as well. Once those are up and available I’ll post it here or on the new blog or both.

One last thing…today is GEEK PRIDE DAY or Towel Day for those of you who appreciate the book Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Today is the day to let your freak (Geek) flag fly and show everyone just how much you love Star Wars. I had the toys and a t-shirt that I slept in.:)

Okay going back to hide in the corner. I’ll write more soon.

Later days, TygerLily

Lena Horne, you will be missed.

10 05 2010

Lena Horne was an actress, a singer and a civil rights activist, but what a lot of people don’t know is that she was living with Multiple Sclerosis. I have admired her since I was a child planning my writer/singer/test pilot/urban planner/marine biologist (I really didn’t know what I wanted to be when I grew up. She was who I looked to. Can’t say sorry for the loss truly because she lived a full life of 92 years but I hope it’s fun up there. I hope she’s still singing.
