Goodbye Writer’s Block!

11 06 2010

So things are looking up these days. I’m getting a new lens for my Nikon F3 on Tuesday. My husband is taking some time off starting that day as well so a couple of road trips are in our future I think. The big thing is that the comic book script writing course has begun! I’ve been sitting on this story (titled “Myles: the Real Boy”) for three years and I am so excited to get it out with the guidance that I’ve been looking for. I have also been doing daily writing exercises which leads me to this…

Dear Writer’s Block, it’s not you, it’s me. Or maybe it is you. You found a hiding place in my creative side when I was too sick to notice. Now I’m getting better and you have overstayed your welcome. (Though you were never really welcome.) I’ve tried in the past to rid myself of you, but you always held on with white knuckles. It’s time for you to get out! Time for you to say goodbye and find a home elsewhere. You are not welcome here. This is not your home. I wish I could say I was sorry to see you go, but really I couldn’t be happier. So I’m sure you’ll find some other poor soul to ruin their good time. I’m sure you’ll exist elsewhere…but not here. So…GOOD BYE!

Have a great weekend everyone!

World Environment Day & the Gulf Coast

6 06 2010

I’ve been watching as much as I can about the oil spill in the gulf. To the point that I can’t stomach it much longer. It’s so hard to watch it and listen
to BP say that they’re doing all they can. I used to be a fan of BP. It was a  symbol of the east coast. Each time my mother and I would travel east we would stop at every BP we passed. Now I don’t want to give them my money ever again. So on, today, World Environment Day, I wanted to say
something…anything. I’m worried that it’s going to get worse before it gets better. Over 500 birds brought in dead…

So please contact AUDUBON if you want to help.
